About.

Borja Bernárdez (Vigo 1982). Visual artist.

The basic principles that form the electronic image and the revolutionary change that digital technologies have brought about in the audiovisual medium is one of his interests. Expanding our understanding of digital imaging and in particular digital photography and video are his main line of work. This line, in turn, leads him to open other paths in which to investigate, such as the relationship between human beings and the technology that surrounds them.

His career began in 2007 with commercial assignments, mainly in the field of fashion photography. Simultaneously he starts with real time video processing. This interest leads him to collaborate for 7 years with the progressive rock group Cró! Performing and manipulating visuals in the band’s concerts. During this time, they present their audiovisual show in several festivals and European cities: Germany (Zappanale Bad Doberan, Berlin, Offenbach), France (Lille, Verfeil, Causade), Portugal (Porto, Festival de Jazz de Sines, Barcelos, Bragança, Monçao), Basque Country, Seville, Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), Badajoz, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Madrid, Asturias…

At present he continues to collaborate with musicians for the creation of audiovisual shows, making commercial photo and video commissions for brands and developing his own body of artistic work.
