An aesthetic and reflective exercise that gave way to my current line of artistic research.
The exercise consisted in defragmenting the pixels of a portrait photograph using Processing. The result was an image that lost its figurative value but that expressively referenced and amplified the value of the original.
The reflections drawn from this exercise were the conception of the electronic image as a flexible material and the need to rethink digital photography beyond its traditional uses.
